The MINItrace Qilin positron-emitting isotope production system is a compact, self-shielded, highly automated cyclotron that can accelerate protons to 9.6MeV of energy (50uA beam current on target). It is a negative ion accelerator designed for fast, easy, and efficient ''on demand'' generation of short-lived PET radioisotopes including F-18 (109 mins), C-11(20 mins), N-13 (10 mins) and O-15 (2 mins). The system is fully automated during start-up, tuning, and operation, and is configured with five target positions for radioisotope production. It includes an integrated radiation shield, a vertically oriented magnet system for reduced room space requirements and simplified maintenance and service, a radiofrequency system, a fixed ion source, beam diagnostics, extractor and vacuum systems, power supplies, cooling and control systems, an an operator workstation console.
